Dick Monday

Dick's film and television credits include ABC’s “Into the Night” with Rick Dees, “Brain Donors”, “My Life”, “Love and Greed”, “Saved by the Bell”, “The Late Show with David Letterman”, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “The Rosie O'Donnell Show” and Woody Allen's “Sweet and Lowdown”. He also writes, directs and stars in productions by the NY Goofs. The Goofs have been producing physical Comedy in festivals and theaters around the world for the past ten years, and this year began a monthly cabaret show titled “Goofballs Cabaret in Dallas. Additionally, Dick has been a featured act with The Big Apple Circus, Circus Sarasota, Circo Atayde in Mexico, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey and The Lone Star Circus. Through the Foundation for Laughter, which Dick co-founded and serves as Artistic Director, he teaches clowning worldwide to clowns, actors, CEOs, Pastors, Health Care workers and theater students at the University of North Texas. You can see Dick’s comedy writing in most of the shows at Sea World in San Antonio. Last year, he made his Dallas Children’s Theatre directing debut with “Balloonacy”, and just completed directing Of Thee I Sing at Lyric Stage, as well as the regional premiere of Blue at DCT. Prior to all of this, Dick was the Director of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s Clown College, where he trained and directed the clowns for The Greatest Show on Earth.

Tiffany earned a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She has been a featured clown in many circuses in the U. S. and abroad, including the Big Apple Circus, Circus Sarasota, Circo Atayde in Mexico, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey and Lone Star Circus. Recently, she was seen on stage with Level Ground Arts in “Metropolis”, “Harvey and “Hellzapoppin’”, as well as in “Last Summer in Bluefish Cove” with Uptown Players. She co-founded the NY Goofs, a company of clowns who have been produced clown theatre off-off Broadway since 1998, and who last year began a monthly cabaret show, “Goofballs Cabaret at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre. Along with partner Dick Monday, she helped create a full-time medical clowning program Children's Medical Center of Dallas and Plano, Parkland Hospital Burn Unit, Cook Children’s Medical Center in Ft. Worth and recently added Boston Children’s Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital to their team. Through their non-profit organization, Foundation for Laughter, they continue to bring Science and Math shows to school children and clowning to underserved communities and chronically sick children. Tiffany recently completed her Masters of Liberal Studies program at Southern Methodist University.

While conducting research for his Masters Thesis at Wake Forest University, Jay came across several references to The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Clown College.  Jay auditioned and was happy to be accepted to the Class of 1989. Since then, Jay has toured withThe Greatest Show on Earth off and on for many years, performed for two years in The Three Stooges, Live! in Las Vegas, and taught both at Ringling Clown College and for the New York Goofs. Jay has performed in Japan with the Kinoshita Circus, formed his own clown troupe, The Seaside Clowns, in Myrtle Beach, and has traveled to China to perform in several International Clown Festivals. He has also been featured in several NY Goofs shows at the Flea Theater in New York. Jay clowns regularly with his wife, Kristin and their two children, Karen and Nicholas. Jay is currently the team Supervisor for The Big Apple Circus Clown Care program, at Childrens Hospital in Boston and in Providence at Hasbro Childrens Hospital, proving that laughter really is the best medicine for the patients, their families and the hospital staff.

Jay Stewart

Hilary has been recognized as one of America's foremost professional physical comediennes, performing her original solo and ensemble work for over a decade throughout the United States, Canada, South America and Europe. Uncovering the humor in everyday life, Hilary's  work has won accolades worldwide. She is also a founding member of the New York Goofs (est.1998) appearing with them in prestigious New York venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, the American Museum of Natural History, Symphony Space, and on tour at Wolf Trap with Bob McGrath from Sesame Street. Hilary is an adjunct professor of clowning at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She has also been entertaining children in NYC hospitals as "Nurse Nice" of the renowned Big Apple Circus Hospital Clown Program¨ (since 1987) and has been invited to teach Hospital Clowning internationally, most recently in Vienna with the Rote Nasen and the CliniClowns. Hilary's award winning solo show A Life In Her Day has most recently been performed to critical acclaim at the Festival Arlekin in Poland. Comicodeon in Austria, and Anjos do Picadeiro in Brazil.

Hilary Chaplain

Barry Lubin created the character of Grandma in 1975, which has become the iconic symbol of the Big Apple Circus. Barry began developing Grandma while performing with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He toured with the Greatest Show on Earth for 5 seasons before becoming part of the fabric of the Big Apple Circus in 1982 and is now in his 24th season. He has toured the world with Grandma performing on television, in circuses, festivals, and theater shows. He has been featured on Late Night with David Letterman and in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade several times. He has taught and directed at the Ringling Clown College, in several universities, and with the NY Goofs numerous times. He sailed to Europe as Interport Lecturer with Semester at Sea in 2008 and 2010. Barry was inducted into the International Clown Hall of Fame in 2002. He has two daughters, Emily 20 and Danielle 26, and now resides in Sweden.
 

Barry Lubin

Thiago Nascimento is a pianist praised for his innate musicality, impressive technique, and ability to improvise in a variety of styles. Born in Brazil, he was raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. His unique talents span classical piano technique, expressive musicality, "stride" jazz piano, improvisation and composition. In addition, his comedic nature and ability to seamlessly integrate slapstick comedy and combine any melodic fragment into any other piece of music on the spur of the moment (no matter how serious or inappropriate) inevitably brings to mind visions of a young Victor Borge.
Thiago is a graduate of  Dallas' Booker T. Washington arts magnet high school. He studied at Peabody Conservatory and graduated fromSouthern Methodist University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Music degree as a student of Alessio Bax. Thiago currently works as a professional pianist in the DFW area, equally at home is the realms of classical, jazz, ballet, musical theater and with the NY Goofs!

Chet has been performing with his parents since he was four years old.  He made his professional theatrical debut in 2009 in The King and I with the Lyric Stage. With his parents, he has appeared on stage with Bob McGrath at Wolf Trap, as the youngest artist in the AEMI Clown Festival in Tiandu City, China, and in Goof Shows in New York, Dallas, the Lone Star Circus, and Slappy’s Holiday Circus. Chet is a Senior at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas and is an Eagle Scout. His favorite theatrical roles include Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing, Eugene in Brighton Beach Memoirs, Slightly in Peter Pan at Casa Manana, Tom in Night of the Living Dead at Dallas Children’s Theatre and David in Rags at Lyric Stage.

Mark Gindick is a professional actor, clown, physical comedian, director, teacher and writer/creator of his own theatrical shows. He has appeared in major feature films, including the Norah Ephron comedy Julie & Julia with Meryl Streep; on televison, Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan OBrien; starred Off-Broadway and at the Edinburgh Theatre Festival in the New York Times acclaimed hit The Comedy Trio Happy Hour, Happyhourclowns.com; clowned on circuses such as Ringling Brothers and the Big Apple Circus as well as teaching clowning at SUNY Purchase college and other New York City venues. Mark wrote and starred in How To Be A Man at the Palace of Variety on 42nd Street (NYC) and Marks unique blend of vaudeville, dance, and physical comedy earned him two Golden Nose Awards. Mark is currently on tour with Cirque du Soleil.

Lily Monday is a Freshman at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas. She is a member of the Musical Theatre Program at the Dallas Children’s Theatre and Choreo Records Tap Company. Lily has performed at Lyric Stage, The Majestic Theatre, Dallas City Performance Hall, Dallas Children’s Theatre, The Firehouse Theatre and Theatre Arlington. She has been a featured performer with the American Youth Circus Organization, Lone Star Circus and Slappy’s Holiday Circus. She also performs regularly in Goofballs Cabaret at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre.

Shawn Patrello has been performing and teaching improvisational comedy for 25 years. He has performed with Comedy Sportz and Ad-Libs, as well as creating and directing his own improv comedy troupe, Rubber Chicken. He currently performs Himprov, a Christian based comedy troupe in Dallas, TX. Shawn joined Funnyatrics, the professional therapeutic clown program at Children's Medical Center, in 2006. In addition to his his other clowning pursuits, Shawn is also a character actor in the Dallas area, as well as a cartoonist and a ventriloquist.

The NY Goofs

Since 1998, the New York Goofs have produced many original off-off Broadway clown shows at the Flea Theater in NYC. They have also been featured at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, The Symphony Space, The World Financial Center, Milwaukee Fest, Wolf Trap, The Medora Musical, The National Folk Festival, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The International Children's Festival, AEMI Clown Festival China, and recently on Japanese Public Television in the popular television program, "Empowering Journey - Kaiji Moriyama".

Kirk Marsh

 Hilarity and delight abound when international comedy headliner Kirk Marsh takes the stage.  Without words his all-out comedy, juggling, unconventional magic, and outlandish audience participation make audiences howl in delight.  It is a spectacle for all ages and languages.  This highly interactive show is perfect for any venue from street to theater.  It is classic comedy at its best! He has performed televised on Late Night with David Letterman in the USA, Circo Massimo in Italy, as well as several television specials in China.  His live performances take place in the numerous theaters, fairs, cruise ships, casinos, and circuses around the world. He has been a regular at Goofballs Cabaret since it began in 2015.
